Virgilio Volante was born in Cassino on 5/4/1999. He began studying the piano under the guidance of M° Giovanni Valle and is currently studying at the Conservatory "Licinio Refice" in Frosinone with M° Carlo Negroni. He soon showed his aptitude for composition by writing solo music, chamber music, for theatre and arrangements of various kind.
He ranked first in various international competitions (Premo ‘Clivis’ in Rome, Awards ‘Mozart’ in Frascati, Prize ‘Notes in the Borgo of the Angel’ in Boville Ernica ...) and attended several masterclasses and seminars. (Clinics of the Boston Berklee at Umbria Jazz, Barry Harris at the Felt Music Club in Rome, Composition seminar of Maestro S. Taglietti in Assisi, Piano Masterclass with Maestro Enrico Pieranunzi, Masterclass of chamber music on fortepiano with M ° Maurizio Paciariello ...)
In December 2014 a CD of his compositions entitled "Sleepless Night" was released
He has given many concerts in Italy and abroad (Spain, Romania) both as a soloist and in chamber ensembles ranging from classical music to jazz. (Atina Jazz, Villa Borghese Piano Day, Trajan's Markets, Piano City Naples, Polish Institute of Rome, Piano City Milan ...). He has an intense activity as a composer, transcriber, arranger and from 2014 he is in charge of the rediscovery and transcription of the works of the composer Samuele Pagano (1883-1972).
